Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of San Francisco seeks a Youth Development Coordinator, Floater to support Mission and Columbia Park Clubhouses in San Francisco. This part-time role assists drop-in activities, tutoring, and structured programs for ages 6–18, while helping with daily data entry and program logistics.

What You’ll Do

Working under the direct supervision of Clubhouse leadership at the Mission and Columbia Park Clubhouses, the Youth Development Coordinator, Floater provides flexible program and departmental support across both locations. This role leads and assists with drop-in activities, tutoring, and structured programs for youth ages 6–18, while supporting Clubhouse Supervisors and Directors with administrative needs such as daily data entry.

  • Engage & Facilitate Programs — Run games, drop-in activities, homework help, and age-appropriate educational activities that foster creativity and active exploration.
  • Promote Member Success — Communicate the importance of academic success, high school graduation, and post-secondary planning (college, vocational training, or workforce entry).
  • Maintain Safety & Confidentiality — Safeguard member safety and maintain confidentiality at all times across all Club sites.
  • Support Administrative Tracking — Support Club sites in taking daily program attendance and inputting reporting data as assigned.
  • Collaborate with Tutors & Volunteers — Work alongside volunteer tutors and students to participate in ongoing educational improvement programs.
What You Bring
Required
  • Passion for working with youth ages 6–18
  • Previous work or volunteer experience (e.g., customer service, education, security, community programs)
  • Demonstrated communication, organizational, and self-starter abilities
  • Desire to co-facilitate and support teammates in program execution
Preferred
  • Education or coursework in Early Childhood Development, Education, or related fields
  • 1+ year of experience in a youth development setting
  • Current Red Cross First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within 90 days)
  • Bilingual abilities
  • Active driver’s license
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Compensation

The wage range for this position is $23.00 per hour. Final compensation is determined based on a range of factors, including skill set, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs. Candidates may be hired at the entry, mid, or senior level of the range, depending on qualifications and position requirements.

Pre-Employment Requirements

As part of the hiring process, BGCSF requires candidates to complete LiveScan fingerprinting, a background check, and a tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test.
