Job summary

Bay FC is seeking a Youth Development Coach in San Jose, CA to lead the individualized development of youth players (U16) and align plans with the club’s game model. This role works with the Youth Director and collaboration with club/academy coaches to maximize progression.

Responsibilities include creating IDPs, delivering sessions, safeguarding, and coordinating with performance and care staff to support holistic development.

Qualifications

• USSF A License or equivalent high-level coaching qualification.
• Proven experience in player development at elite professional or academy level.
• Strong technical and tactical understanding of football across positions.
• Skilled in using performance analysis and video tools (Hudl, Wyscout, etc.).
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary staff.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to connect with diverse player profiles.
• Commitment to continuous learning and modern development practices.
• Ability to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekend, holidays, match days and travel as required by the youth program.

Responsibilities

• Lead individual development plans (IDPs) for youth players (U16) aligned with game model and player pathway.
• Collaborate with home clubs, academies, and national team coaches to monitor progress.
• Provide input into long-term youth development strategies and academy programming.
• Coordinate with performance, medical, data, and care staff to support holistic player development.
• Maintain safeguarding standards and ensure a safe, inclusive environment.
• Mentor youth players to foster professionalism and growth mindset.
