Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Central Coast in Santa Maria is seeking a Youth Development Professional for a temporary full-time role, supporting at the Paso Robles Club site. The position requires travel between Santa Maria and Paso Robles, with a Club vehicle provided.

The role involves planning and supervising activities across core program areas, ensuring safety, engaging youth, and coordinating volunteers.

Qualifications

Minimum 18 years of age; High School diploma or GED required.
Minimum 1 year experience working directly with school-aged youth and knowledge of youth development.
Knowledge of program planning/instruction, implementation and assessment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, email, internet research, and social media navigation.
Ability to communicate effectively with youth, parents, staff, volunteers and community partners.
Experience in tutoring and mentoring youth; ability to motivate and manage behavioral challenges.
Strong work ethic with reliability and task follow-through.
Must be able to stand and be active for several hours daily.
Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

Create an environment that supports Youth Development Outcomes and encourages participation.
Provide positive guidance and role modeling for club members.
Coordinate program services and cooperative learning activities for youth.
Plan, lead, monitor and evaluate programs to ensure safety and quality.
Handle daily setup/cleanup of materials and maintain club spaces.
Supervise members and monitor safety and behavior during activities.
Maintain attendance records and prepare reports as required.
Build relationships with members, parents, and volunteers through effective communication.
Travel between Santa Maria and Paso Robles in a club-provided vehicle per policy.
