Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Community Advocate to empower youth through education, recreation, and mentorship in Paarl. You will engage with young people, connect them to resources, and help create a supportive environment that fosters growth and resilience.

This role emphasizes building trusted relationships with families, schools, and local organizations, organizing workshops, and guiding youth through personal and social challenges.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Youth Development, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field.
• Experience working with adolescents and young adults.
• Strong understanding of youth development principles and challenges.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to build rapport and trust with diverse groups of young people.
• Passion for empowering youth and making a positive impact in Paarl.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with youth to understand their needs, aspirations, and challenges.
• Facilitate access to educational resources, vocational training, and mentorship opportunities.
• Organize and implement youth-focused activities, workshops, and events.
• Act as a liaison between youth, families, schools, and community organizations.
• Provide guidance and support to young people navigating personal and social issues.
• Advocate for the needs and rights of youth within the community and relevant service systems.
