Job summary

Calex-Sports-Inc is seeking an After School Dance Teacher to lead engaging dance classes for K-5 students at Bay Area elementary schools. Classes run 1 to 1.5 hours, typically between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

You’ll create a fun, inclusive environment that encourages self-expression and teamwork while guiding young dancers through basic techniques and choreography. Ideal candidates enjoy working with children, are reliable and punctual, and can travel across the Bay Area.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Dance teaching or performance experience preferred but not required.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Lead dance classes for 8-16 students aged 5-10 at Bay Area elementary schools.
• Attend up to two unpaid training/shadowing days to learn the program.
• Transport and set up equipment for each class.
• Take attendance and communicate with parents and school staff.
• Provide feedback on student progress and document class activities.

Your Role:

As an After School Dance Teacher, you’ll lead engaging dance classes for students in grades K-5 at various elementary schools across the Bay Area. You'll create a fun and supportive environment where kids can learn, express themselves, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

Class Management:

• Energize and manage classes of 8-16 enthusiastic students aged 5-10.
• Teach various forms of dance tailored to elementary school children.

Training & Preparation:

• Attend a maximum of two-day unpaid training/shadowing session to familiarize yourself with our program.
• Transport and set up any necessary equipment for each class.

Administrative Tasks:

• Take attendance and manage student sign-in/out procedures.
• Communicate effectively with parents and school staff as needed.
• Provide constructive feedback on each student’s progress.

Capture the Fun:

• Document the joy of dance by capturing photos of kids in action during sessions!

What We’re Looking For:

• Must be at least 19 years old.
• At least a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous teaching or performing experience in dance is preferred but not required.
• A genuine enjoyment of working with children and effective classroom management skills.
• Flexibility, reliability, punctuality, and a professional, enthusiastic approach are essential.
• Strong communication skills and a resilient, positive attitude.
• Reliable transportation throughout the East and South Bay and Peninsula.

Locations & Schedule:

• Classes are held at various elementary schools across the Bay Area.
• Classes run for 1 - 1.5 hours, starting between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
• Work two or more days per week with a maximum of 2-5 hours weekly.
