Job summary

NorthWest Arkansas Community College (NWACC) seeks a chef assistant to support the Chef Instructor in culinary classes and camps for kids. You will set up kitchen, support demos, monitor campers, and help with recipes and plating.

Must be 18+ years old with culinary arts experience or schooling and understanding of food safety. Background check and immunizations may be required. Position pays $14.00 hourly.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Culinary arts or baking experience or schooling.
• Experience working with children.
• Understanding of food saftey.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment and mis en place for daily cooking/baking activities.
• Monitor campers to ensure safety and rule compliance.
• Check ingredient cart and list missing ingredients.
• Assist with and/or lead cooking or baking demos with oversight from Chef Instructor as needed.
• Ensure proper food safety and plating assistance.
• Help customers/campers with recipes and plating for lunch or snack.
• Prep recipes.
• Assist with cleaning tasks as needed.
• Additional duties may be assigned to support department and college goals.
