Job summary

Management & Training Corporation's Edison Job Corps Center seeks a dedicated counselor for a full-time, on-site role. You will plan, develop and implement a professional counseling program for assigned students in line with government and management directives.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree with 15 semester hours in social services and one year of counseling experience, plus strong youth engagement, excellent communication skills, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree including 15 semester hours in social services related instruction and one year experience in counseling or related field.
• Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, develop and implement a professional individual and group counseling program for assigned students per directives.
• Review background files, conduct interviews and assessments to tailor programs for each student.
• Maintain individual folders, prepare reports, and verify information per requirements.
• Provide ongoing educational, personal and social adjustment counseling to students individually and in groups.
• Monitor progress, document case notes, and coordinate with other program areas as needed.
• Refer students to medical or psychiatric evaluation when warranted, and support transfer or advanced programs.
