Job summary

The Children’s Village in New York, NY is seeking a Social Worker – Alternative to Detention to provide direct clinical services to youth aged 13 to 20 with court involvement. You will conduct short-term counseling and work with families, court stakeholders, and community partners to support compliance and case resolution.

Experience with MI, CBT, DBT, trauma-informed approaches is preferred; LMSW/LCSW/LMHC or equivalent and a master’s degree in social work are highly valued.

Qualifications

• LMSW, LCSW, LMHC or equivalent preferred.
• Master’s degree in social work with minimum two years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with MI, CBT, DBT, Trauma-informed approaches.
• Ability to write clearly and work in a multi-disciplinary setting.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical services to youth aged 13 to 20 with court involvement.
• Conduct short-term counseling interventions to address developmental, behavioral, and social needs.
• Help youth understand charges, impact of actions, and ways to avoid further involvement in the juvenile justice system.
• Collaborate with families, referral sources, court stakeholders, and community partners to support compliance and successful case resolution.
• Services are provided in the community and other designated locations.
