Join us in making a difference in the lives of Arizona's youth. This position offers hands-on experience and the opportunity to work with dedicated professionals focused on rehabilitation. Effective July 1, 2021, a $5,000 Hiring Incentive is available for new hires. The role follows a 4-step pay plan, starting at $22.50/hour, with annual increases.
Additional responsibilities include safety monitoring, searches, visitation inspections, and record keeping. No prior experience is required; training is provided during a paid 7-week academy, covering juvenile procedures, officer skills, crisis intervention, legal issues, and more. After training, you receive two weeks of paid on-the-job training.
Earn college credits and a certificate from Rio Salado College, with opportunities for further education and career advancement in areas like security, counseling, investigations, and legal services. Tuition assistance of up to $1,500 per year is available.
Understanding of human behavior, proper use of force, juvenile care language, and standard housekeeping. Skills in communication and the ability to establish effective relationships. Capable of working outdoors, learning laws and procedures, applying security practices, and providing positive role modeling. Ability to respond to emergencies, conduct crisis interventions, and maintain a secure environment.
Military or law enforcement background and experience working with youth are preferred.
Selection involves tests, interviews, background checks, drug screening, physical exam, and completion of a 7-week paid training academy. All employees must complete E-Verify.
