Job summary

YMCA of Central Florida is seeking a Sports Assistant to support youth and adult sports programs under supervision. You will help plan activities, ensure safety, and promote member retention while maintaining equipment and facilities.

You will interact with members of all ages, provide excellent service, and assist with communications and events. Flexible hours, including weekends, are required to support program operations.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Desire and ability to work with people of all ages, improving healthy living.
• Willing to work flexible hours including weekdays and weekends.
• CPR/AED & First Aid within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing youth and adult sports programs to retain and engage members.
• Plan and implement sports activities with the Coordinator/Director.
• Maintain supplies, equipment, and proper storage for programs.
• Provide direction, rules and supervision of sports activities.
• Report incidents and follow safety procedures per policy.
• Engage participants and communicate progress to parents.
• Foster a safe, positive environment supporting participants' growth.
• Attend staff meetings and assist with events and housekeeping tasks.
