Job summary

The New York Foundling is seeking a Fair Futures Coach to support youth with justice-system involvement. You’ll manage a caseload of up to 18 youth, guiding them toward academic and career goals with individualized plans, ongoing social-emotional support, and connections to schools, programs, and mentors.

Collaboration with families and professionals is essential. As a full-time role, you’ll coordinate with supervisors and partners to monitor progress, address barriers, and promote resilience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's in social work, Sociology or Psychology
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. accredited educational institution

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships with youth employing trauma-informed and strength-based approaches. Maintain a caseload of up to 18 youth.
  • Work 1:1 with youth to develop academic, career development goals and other life goals, with measurable steps.
  • Provide ongoing social/emotional support to youth.
  • Connect youth to specialists to identify and apply to best-fit schools/programs and opportunities.
  • Help youth persist in academic/career settings by weekly check-ins and school visits.
  • Help youth navigate challenges, celebrate successes, and plan next steps.
  • Collaborate with case planners, tutors, and specialists to support youth wellbeing.
  • Communicate progress and barriers to supervisor and relevant stakeholders.

Education

Bachelor's in social work, Sociology or Psychology
