Job summary

MetroRock in Fort Collins, CO seeks a part-time Recreational Teams Head Coach to lead youth programs and coach across multiple age groups. This role includes developing curricula, supervising staff, and fostering a positive program culture.

You will oversee day-to-day operations, recruitment, scheduling, payroll, and coaching performance reviews, while ensuring a safe, engaging experience for athletes and families.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching youth in recreational and/or competitive climbing programs.
• Experience leading or supervising others, including coaching, scheduling, or managing staff.
• Experience with indoor climbing instruction, risk management, and climbing facility operations.
• Proficiency with program management/point-of-sale systems such as Rock Gym Pro.
• Current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Current SafeSport Certification, or willingness to obtain upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, engaging, and well-organized recreational programs that reflect MetroRock’s coaching philosophy.
• Maintain an active coaching presence to ensure a high-quality participant experience.
• Collaborate with the Youth Programs Manager to develop curriculum and programming based on community needs.
• Oversee day-to-day administration of programs, including registration and staffing.
• Finalize payroll and timesheets and ensure adequate staffing for all programs.
• Recruit, onboard, schedule, develop, and supervise Recreational Coaches.
• Conduct performance reviews for Apprentice and Recreational Lead Coaches every 6 months.
• Foster a positive, collaborative team culture and accountability.
