Job summary

Central Rock Gym seeks a Youth Programs Director to lead coaches and foster a fun, welcoming environment for climbers of all ages. You will develop fundamentals, build a strong curriculum, and supervise the CRG youth community experience while reinforcing our pillars of community, grit, and growth.

You will coordinate practices, create seasonal programming with the manager, communicate with parents, ensure SafeSport training, and help hire/train staff and set pricing.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with youth in adventure/educational settings.
• Strong behavior management with youth of all ages.
• Strong in-person and remote communication skills.
• Minimum 2 years of climbing experience.
• Weekday afternoon availability; weekends are encouraged.
• Proficiency in top rope belaying.
• Careful attention to detail; ability to analyze movement and provide feedback.

Responsibilities

• Lead practices with confidence.
• Work with the manager to create a programming schedule for each season.
• Communicate with parents about each program.
• Complete SafeSport training for youth coaches.
• Work with DOH to meet training standards when training staff.
• Schedule, determine pricing, and hire/train staff for each season/offering.
• Adhere to coaches’ code of conduct.
• Create and implement weekly lesson plans.
• Maintain consistent communication with coaching staff regarding scheduling, progress.
• Other duties as needed.
