Job summary

A community orchestra is seeking a Youth Chorus Director to lead its Youth Chorus this spring. The director will select the repertoire and guide 15 students (grades 4-6) in preparation for performances, including an inaugural concert on April 11 and a recital on June 6. Candidates should have piano skills and experience leading youth choruses. The position allows freedom in repertoire selection and includes support for initial rehearsals.

• Experience leading youth choruses or choirs.
• Ability to select repertoire independently.
• Strong communication skills for working with youth and families.

Overview

Hello! I’m looking for a Youth Chorus Director to lead the South Orange County Orchestra Youth Chorus this spring.

Details

• Piano skills preferred (no accompanist, but part tracks can be provided if needed)


• Full freedom to select the repertoire


• Chorus will perform with the orchestra for our inaugural concert on April 11, plus a youth chorus recital on June 6.


• The program technically starts this Monday (Jan 26), but I can cover rehearsals initially and help with the transition if needed. I’ll also be available for support, planning, and questions anytime.


• The chorus is currently 15 students (4th-6th grade)
