Qualifications

• Experience teaching or leading groups of children.
• Able to run a class independently with engaging activities.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor.
• Desire to be a positive role model and promote good sportsmanship.
• Solid understanding of chess fundamentals and ability to explain moves clearly.
• Ability to connect chess to real-life problem solving.
• Reliable transportation and ability to drive between sites.
• Available weekday afternoons (2:00–5:00 PM) to teach 1–5 classes weekly.
• Commitment to school safety protocols and strict adherence to policies.
• Strong punctuality and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Teach chess fundamentals using a structured curriculum.
• Maintain a positive, energetic classroom environment.
• Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking.
• Follow school safety protocols during arrivals, dismissals, and in-class activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
