Job summary

ACTIVSTARS is hiring Youth Cheer Coaches for evening, part-time roles across the greater Phoenix area. This session-coaching opportunity involves leading three age groups through basics in cheer and dance, with some pom use, and participating in paid weekend events each semester.

Coaches will begin training upon hire, stay consistent to a set weekday, and have the chance to mentor young cheerleaders while earning competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Must have cheerleading experience.
• Ability to work with children aged 4–15.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Reliable transportation on a weekly basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and be a positive role-model for youth.
• Coach basic cheerleading and cheer-dance routines for multiple age groups.
• Plan practices, teach safety, and oversee check-ins for sessions.
• Choreograph routines and perform in three or four weekend events per semester.

This Cheer Coach position is for one evening per week, set day of the week that stays consistent for the full semester, such as every Tuesday evening (for example), coaching three age-groups of students (teams) the basics in cheerleading and cheer dance (with some use of poms). Experience with teaching children and choreographing cheer/dance routines and performance-oriented cheers is a plus. Our Cheer Coaches also participate in three or four paid weekend events each semester (dates set in advance).

Coaching responsibilities include practice preparations/lesson plan, teaching students safe and effectively, overseeing practice check-ins, choreographing dance routines and performance cheers per team level, team stunting fundamentals and execution and basic record-keeping.

Paid training sessions will cover our organization teaching guidelines, records, and assisting a veteran coach to see how classes are conducted. This is truly one of the most fun part-time jobs you can imagine for great pay!
