Job summary

Jersey Cares is seeking Success Coaches to mentor and guide under-resourced youth, known as Service Scholars, in Newark. These volunteers will engage in group coaching and one-on-one sessions, helping scholars develop college and career-readiness plans.

The ideal candidates should possess strong communication skills and a desire to support youth through mentoring. This is a volunteer role aimed at empowering young adults ages 16 to 24 in their educational and career paths.

Qualifications

• Desire to learn coaching concepts and support under-resourced youth.
• Good interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to encourage peer support among Service Scholars.
• Skill in facilitating thoughtful discussions to identify solutions.

Responsibilities

• Engage in group coaching and one-on-one mentoring for Service Scholars.
• Assist scholars in developing college and career-readiness plans.
• Serve as accountability partners to track progress towards goals.
