Trinity Youth Services in El Monte, CA is hiring a Youth Care Worker to join our residential team and engage youth through development activities, education, and community access. You will help monitor safety, support the child’s case plan, and assist in daily care and program participation.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 21+ years old, clear English communication, and a valid California driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • One year experience in youth services or similar setting required.
  • Interest in working directly with youth per California Title 22.
  • Clear spoken and written English communication.
  • Must be 21+ and pass background checks, including criminal and Child Abuse Index.
  • Valid California driver’s license and clean DMV history.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe home for children and supervise to meet ratio requirements.
  • Provide development opportunities and support independence.
  • Encourage learning and engagement in educational and social activities.
  • Facilitate community access and integration.
  • Prepare incident reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Collaborate with Youth Care workers and supervisors to maintain safety.
  • Follow Case Plan and participate in trainings and meetings.
  • Drive a vehicle when necessary.

Now Hiring: Youth Care Worker

We are currently seeking a Youth Care Worker to join our residential team. The Youth Care Worker is responsible for the meaningful engagement of Children for our Shelter Program, with the aim of meeting the developmental, cultural and care needs by ensuring their day-to-day care, actively participate in program activities, supporting, the child’s case plan and developing their personal skills. Other duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ensuring a safe home for children. Provide line of sight and sound supervision of children in order to be counted towards ratio requirements.
  • Supervise children in order to be counted towards ratio requirements.
  • Provide new and challenging opportunities for development.
  • Encourage and assist in learning competencies for independence.
  • Encourage and engage clients in educational and social activities.
  • Facilitate community access and integration.
  • Initiate incident reports concerning behavioral problems, injuries, or accidents; provide complete and accurate documentation including dorm logs and other reports as assigned.
  • Work as a team with other Youth Care workers and shift supervisors to promote a safe and healthy environment for the children.
  • Adhere to Case Plan for assigned children with direction from Caseworkers and/or supervisors.
  • Attend meetings and trainings as assigned.
  • Drive a vehicle when necessary.

Skills/Requirements:

  • A High school diploma or GED is required.
  • One year experience working in a facility/program similar to Trinity or one involved with the counseling, education, or recreation of youth and/or adolescents required.
  • Should have an interest in working directly with youth in accordance with the general requirements as established in the California Administrative Code, Title 22.
  • Must communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing in English.
  • Must be 21 years of age or older and able to pass a physical examination; drug clearance; criminal background check and Child Abuse Index check.
  • Must possess a valid California driver’s license with clean DMV history and the ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and be insurable by Trinity’s insurance carrier.
  • Bilingual preferred (Spanish).

Pay rate: $20.38 per hour.

Schedule: Wednesday - Saturday from 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM

Schedule: Sunday - Wednesday (Sunday - Tuesday from 2:00PM - 11:00PM and Wednesday from 12:30PM - 11:00PM)
