Job summary

Residing Hope is hiring a Youth Care Specialist II in Florida to supervise and support youth in therapeutic respite programs. You will implement behavior plans, supervise activities, transport youths, and coordinate with staff to ensure a nurturing environment.

The role requires a high school diploma and 2–4 years in child welfare, plus relevant training within 90 days. A valid driver's license is required, with a focus on safety and documentation.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent and 2–4 years of child welfare experience preferred.
• Experience as a mental health technician, behavior technician or psychiatric aide preferred.
• Experience in a setting providing respite/short‑term care services or therapeutic group care preferred.
• The Youth Care Specialist II is responsible for completion of required trainings within the first 90 days of employment.
• Valid driver license with a clean driving record, required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for constant visual and audial supervision of youth in the therapeutic respite program at all times while on shift.
• Creates an atmosphere conducive to growth and development of the youth of their cottage as individuals and as a cottage group.
• Plans and provides transportation for youth in their cottage to various functions and activities.
• Provides for the nutritional needs of the youth in their cottage and implements menus and related documents.
• Maintains order, safety, cleanliness of the facility, and adequate supervision of youth at all times.
• Efficiently administers and documents medications as prescribed to youth in cottages.
