Job summary

Nexus Family Healing in Eugene, Oregon, is opening a 14-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility for youth ages 12–17. The Youth Care Professional will support the therapeutic plan, guide daily living activities, supervise residents, and collaborate with the treatment team.

Responsibilities include ensuring safety, engaging families, and assisting with transportation to home visits and activities. The role offers an overnight shift with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Desire to work in human services and care for at-risk youth.
• Ability to build strong relationships with diverse individuals and understand their needs.
• Willingness to meet the cultural needs of individuals and communities.
• Successful participation in and completion of a three-part Nonviolent Crisis Intervention exam and training.

• Support and reinforce the therapeutic plan by guiding residents in daily living activities.
• Mentor and supervise resident daily activities and behavior according to established guidelines.
• Collaborate with coworkers on treatment plan implementation and therapeutic services.
• Be aware of individual client phases, privileges, restrictions, and adapt interactions accordingly.
• Ensure resident safety and maintain a positive, respectful, clean, and therapeutic environment.
• Engage with clients’ families/support networks to reinforce positive family partnerships; follow protocols for family engagement.
• Plan and participate in off-campus resident activities and assist with transportation to home visits, appointments, and planned recreational activities.

Overview

Nexus Family Healing is expanding to Eugene, Oregon, with the opening of a 14-bed psychiatric residential treatment facility (PRTF) set to open this summer. This location is in partnership with the Oregon Health Authority Behavioral Health Division and will serve justice-involved youth ages 12–17 experiencing acute emotional concerns and serious and persistent mental illness. Our mission is to embrace diversity, promote equity, and foster inclusion while supporting a diverse group of youth and families.

Schedule / Pay / Location

• Overnight (3rd) shift: 10:00 pm– 8:30 am
• 38–40 hour weekly schedule options: Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday
• Pay Rate: $23.00+ per hour
• Location: 2675 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Eugene, OR

Physical Demands

• Ability to assist staff in physical interventions and restraints of clients
• Lift up to 50 pounds unassisted; up to 100 pounds with assistance
• Stand and walk for extended periods (2–4 hours)
• Twist, bend, and stretch to perform daily activities within a residential treatment facility
