Job summary

The Old Colony YMCA is seeking a caring Youth Advocate to join our Family Based Services team in Brockton, MA. You will work with teens in after-school settings, at home, at school, and in the community to build confidence, coping skills, and positive connections.

This part-time role (25 hours/week) offers meaningful daily interaction, schedule flexibility, and mileage reimbursement for program-related travel; starting wage is $20 per hour, with a pay range of $16–$20 depending on qualifications

Qualifications

• CORI/SORI clearance required.
• Drug test required.
• Driving record review required.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Valid driver’s license and insurance.
• Reliable personal vehicle.
• Ability to communicate effectively with youth, families, schools, and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support youth through individualized services.
• Provide therapeutic after-school support, behavior management, and crisis intervention.
• Help youth develop daily living, social, school, and community skills.
• Support youth and families through challenging situations.
• Connect youth and families with helpful community resources.
• Participate in family meetings, team meetings, trainings, and community activities.
• Document services, incidents, and progress accurately.
• Advocate for youth and help them work toward their individual goals.
• Some flexibility with scheduling.
• Primarily serving the Brockton and Taunton areas.

The Old Colony Y is looking for a caring, energetic, and dependable Youth Advocate to join our Family Based Services team!

In this role, you will work directly with youth in a therapeutic after-school setting, at home, at school, and in the community. You will build meaningful relationships while helping youth develop confidence, coping skills, independence, and positive connections within their families, schools, and communities.

What You Will Do

• Typical schedule: Monday, Wednesday and every other Friday 2pm-6:30pm. Tuesday, Thursdays and every other Friday 12pm-6:30pm.

• Mileage reimbursement provided for program-related transportation
