Job summary

Old Colony YMCA in Brockton, MA is seeking a caring Peer Mentor to work with 12–18 year olds in a community-based setting. The role is part-time with Mondays and Wednesdays 1:30pm–6:30pm and every other Friday 1:30pm–6:30pm.

You will build positive relationships, serve as a mentor, facilitate recreational and social activities, and help with daily living skills, intake, and documentation. Requirements include being 18+, a high school diploma or equivalent, valid ID, CORI/SORI checks, and

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid ID.
• Experience working with adolescents/young adults preferred.
• Social services experience preferred.
• Must successfully complete CORI and SORI checks.
• Professional references required.
• Must complete required training and certifications.
• Ability to work effectively with young adults who may have emotional and behavioral challenges.

Responsibilities

The Old Colony Y is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Peer Mentor to join our TAG Programs team!

As a Peer Mentor, you will support young adults in a safe, positive, and structured environment while helping them build confidence, independence, and life skills. You will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, facilitate activities, support community connections, and encourage young adults as they work toward their goals.

What You Will Do
