Job summary

YMCA of Metro Atlanta seeks a Camp Counselor in Marietta, GA, to support the camp lead, assist in program activities, and supervise campers in a dynamic youth development setting. This part-time role emphasizes safety, engagement, and a positive camp experience for children aged 6 weeks through pre-K in a versatile outdoor/indoor environment.

Requirements include being at least 18, experience with children, and CPR/First Aid or ability to obtain.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.
Experience working with children in a structured setting.
CPR and First Aid certifications or ability to obtain them.
Exemplify YMCA ideals and leadership qualities.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, work independently, and manage time effectively.
Strong customer service skills and commitment to service and hospitality.
Must pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and BFTS background check.
CPR and First Aid within 30 days of employment and maintain throughout employment.

Responsibilities

Provide guidance, safety, leadership, education, and enjoyment for campers.
Carry out daily program tasks related to the position's scope and responsibility.
Stay updated on current issues regarding camp programs.
Promote, monitor, evaluate and ensure camp programs run smoothly with a high level of service to participants.
Maintain certifications and training as required by YMCA policies.
