Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center in Portsmouth, VA seeks an experienced Registered Nurse Supervisor to oversee nursing care for youth ages 7 to 17, ensuring safety and compliance. The role requires Virginia RN licensure, CPR, and supervisory experience in a psychiatric setting.

You will lead nursing staff, administer medications, and coordinate with the medical team in a residential treatment program dedicated to treating depression, bipolar, ADHD, and related disorders.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved School of Nursing, which confers RN, AD, or Diploma in Nursing.
• Licensed by Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse; CPR certification.
• 1–3 years supervisory experience with children/adolescents in psychiatric settings; 3+ years preferred.
• Ability to verbally de-escalate and physically restrain when necessary; CPR/First Aid.
• Must adhere to nursing standards, policies, and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for nursing care based on the nursing process and in compliance with facility policies and procedures.
• Monitors, reports, and documents the residents’ behavior and physiological status.
• Administers medications and performs treatments/procedures in compliance with facility and nursing services policies.
• Guides the response to residents in crisis in collaboration with nursing leadership and medical staff.
• Demonstrates clinical competence in direct patient care and milieu management.
• Reports accurately to oncoming shifts regarding residents' medical and psychiatric conditions.
