Job summary

Sioux Falls YMCA is seeking a part-time Community Sports Lead to create a safe, fun space for youth sports. You will design and lead practices at multiple locations for elementary students (grades 3–5) in partnership with the CLC, ensuring engaging sessions and skill development.

The role requires reliable coaching, travel between sites on practice days, and collaboration with families and school staff. A high school diploma, basketball knowledge, CPR and background check are required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Basketball knowledge and ability to teach youth.
Background check and CPR training required.
Familiarity with YMCA Basketball Program preferred.
Professional and respectful communication with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

Arrive on time to receive players.
Set up and manage equipment for league purposes.
Work with Program Engagement Manager to design practices.
Lead all practices at 8 locations and implement in games.
Coach 4 games per month with equal playing time.
Travel between schools on practice days.
Maintain positive communication with school district staff, families and players.
Other duties as assigned.
