An established community mental health center is seeking a compassionate Youth Attendant Care Worker to support vulnerable populations in Kansas. This part-time role involves providing essential attendant care services, encouraging client engagement in activities, and fostering effective problem-solving skills. The Guidance Center (TGC) is the Community Mental Health Center for Leavenworth, Atchison, and Jefferson counties in Kansas. We treat everyone with the same quality of care, regardless of their ability to pay. As an employee of TGC, you'll have the opportunity to help the most vulnerable population in Kansas. Most of our clients are below the poverty line and many experiences homelessness. We are the only provider that offers therapy, case management, psychosocial, and medication services all at the same site. We care greatly about our clients and are consistently moving towards a holistic model of care.
Youth Attendant Care Worker Part-time Primary Duties:
Provide attendant care services which assist with promoting successful completion of daily activities
Encourage and support clients' engagement in pro-social activities
Encourage and support clients' efforts to effectively problem-solve and interact successfully with others
Work respectfully and supportively with clients' parents/caregivers, while observing appropriate boundaries
Transport clients to and from activities or appointments when necessary
Understand direct service requirements and efficiency goals established by TGC for the position, and achieve same
Youth Attendant Care Worker Part-time Minimum Qualifications:
One year of college course work in the field of human services, or one year experience in the field of human services, or combination of education and work experience in the field of human services which equals one year.
Required: Six months experience working with individuals in the community. Experience gained through practicum experience or volunteer work can be included.
Preferred: experience working with individuals with mental health issues.
