Job summary

RIVER CITY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CENTER (R CITY) in Chicago seeks a Human Resources lead to staff and supervise apprenticeship programs, ensuring timely feedback and adherence to policies. The role reports to the Executive Director and collaborates with the administration team to maintain program quality.

The position includes recruitment support, staff training development, and coordination of NCCER-related programming.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years experience in construction (management or logistics) or youth programming.
• 2+ years experience working with youth with trauma and/or special needs or in job training programming.
• 3+ years experience in management role leading programs or staff teams.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Apprenticeship staff (and volunteers); provide timely feedback and ensure policy adherence.
• Assist with crew leader recruitment, hiring, interviews, references, and decisions.
• Lead weekly crew leader meetings; coordinate program priorities and quality.
• Participate in staff meetings/trainings and support a positive organizational culture.
• Develop and implement staff training and professional development for apprentices and volunteers.
