Job summary

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network in Lowell seeks a Youth & Family Support Worker to provide culturally informed support to children, young adults, and families within behavioral health contexts. You will deliver mentoring, counseling, and practical assistance to promote skills in daily living and social functioning.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirements include varying combinations of diploma/degree with direct work with youth and families.
• Driving with valid license and access to a reliable vehicle is required.
• Experience in behavioral health supports is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally informed therapeutic interventions to children, young adults, and families.
• Collaborate with team to ensure continuity in treatment and messages.
• Offer mentoring, counseling, and practical support including transportation and referrals.
• Advocate for families and attend meetings as requested.

Youth & Family Support Worker

Community Based - Lowell

Salary Range: $22.00 - $28.00/hour depending on experience and degree + sign>-on bonus (half paid after 6 months of employment and half paid after 1 year of employment/pro-rated for part-time).

What you will do:

• Provide culturally informed therapeutic interventions to children, young adults, and their families, that promote skill building in the life domainsof:social functioning, symptom management, coping skills and activities of daily living.
• Collaborate with all members of the team to ensure continuity in treatment, services, and messages delivered.
• Provide both "soft" services (mentoring, counseling, skill-building) with identified clients as well as "hard" services including transportation, referrals, accessing concrete services such as furniture, food, etc.
• Serve as an advocate and attend meetings with the family and as requested by the youth and/or family.

MinimumRequirements:

• High School Diploma plus at least 5 years experience working directly with children, young adults, and/or families OR
• Associates Degree in Social Work or related field plus at least 3 years experience working with children, young adults, and/or families OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field plus at least 1 year of direct experience working with children, young adults, and/or families.
• Driving in the community is a requirement of this position; please ensure you have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

We will train you in Motivational Interviewing; Courageous Conversations; Trauma Informed Practice; Attachment, Regulation and Competency Model (ARC).
