Job summary

Wayside Youth & Family Support Network is seeking a Youth & Family Support Worker for our Lowell site to provide therapeutic interventions and supportive services to youth and families in the community.

You will collaborate with team members, offer mentoring and concrete supports, and participate in family meetings as needed. A strong human-services mindset and flexible approach are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 5+ years experience or Associates/Bachelor’s degree with relevant direct work with youth/families.
• Must have valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Experience in behavioral health or youth services preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide culturally informed therapeutic interventions to youth, families, and young adults to build life skills.
• Collaborate with the team to ensure continuity of treatment and services.
• Offer both mentoring/counseling and concrete services like transportation and referrals.
• Attend meetings with families as requested by youth and/or family.

Youth & Family Support Worker

Community Based - Lowell

Salary Range: $22.00 - $28.00/hour depending on experience and degree + sign-on bonus (half paid after 6 months of employment and half paid after 1 year of employment/pro-rated for part-time).

What you will do:

• Provide culturally informed therapeutic interventions to children, young adults, and their families, that promote skill building in the life domainsof:social functioning, symptom management, coping skills and activities of daily living.
• Collaborate with all members of the team to ensure continuity in treatment, services, and messages delivered.
• Provide both "soft" services (mentoring, counseling, skill-building) with identified clients as well as "hard" services including transportation, referrals, accessing concrete services such as furniture, food, etc.
• Serve as an advocate and attend meetings with the family and as requested by the youth and/or family.

MinimumRequirements:

• High School Diploma plus at least 5 years experience working directly with children, young adults, and/or families OR
• Associates Degree in Social Work or related field plus at least 3 years experience working with children, young adults, and/or families OR
• Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field plus at least 1 year of direct experience working with children, young adults, and/or families.
• Driving in the community is a requirement of this position; please ensure you have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

We will train you in: Motivational Interviewing; Courageous Conversations; Trauma Informed Practice; Attachment, Regulation and Competency Model (ARC).
