Job summary

The Gateway Region YMCA in St. Louis, MO is seeking a program coordinator to support planning and coordination of youth activities and community programs. You will work with leadership to identify needs and ensure proper policy implementation, budgeting, and effective communication.

The role involves recruiting volunteers, organizing events, and coordinating summer camps and teen activities, with opportunities for growth within a respected nonprofit network.

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent preferred.
• 1–2 years related experience coordinating people or activities.
• Ability to use typical business software and office equipment.
• Understanding of volunteerism within YMCA.
• Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.

Responsibilities

• Support planning and coordination of a program and its activities.
• Works with director to determine current needs for program.
• Ensure implementation of policies and procedures.
• Maintain budget and track expenditures/transactions.
• Manage communication through media relations, social media, etc.
• Schedule and organize meetings/events and maintain agenda.
• Support growth and program development.
• Organizes and oversees program activities and events.
• Recruits and coordinates volunteers from the local community.
• Coordinates and monitors teen summer camps.
• Organizes, and conducts leaders clubs and other teen activities and events.
• Secures facilities for program activities and events.

Requirements

• College Degree in related field or equivalent preferred.
• One to two years related experience preferred, as a coordinator of people or related activity.
• Ability to use typical business software and office equipment.
