Job summary

Giants Ridge, just north of Duluth, MN, is seeking a Development Team Coach to guide youth skiers in building fundamentals and love for the sport. The role focuses on safety, technique development, and competitive readiness within a fun team environment.

You will work outdoors in winter conditions, lead group instruction, and participate in race-related activities and awards. Flexible scheduling is offered, with some evenings, weekends and holidays required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old by start of employment.
• Experience in alpine ski racing/training.
• Alpine coaching experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to organize, direct and lead a group of young athletes.
• Strong guest service skills and good written/verbal communication.
• Ability to learn and develop new skills.
• Must be able to work outdoors in varying winter conditions.

Responsibilities

• Upholds athlete safety on varied terrain.
• Develop athletes' technique, race strategy and goals.
• Travel to Northland Junior Race Series races.
• Prep courses and practice areas before sessions.
• Lead athletes through courses during inspections.
• Ensure athletes are on time for runs and attend award sessions.
• All other duties as assigned.
