Job summary

Community Solutions Inc. (CSI) is seeking an energetic Youth Advocate to work in the SAIL Program in Meriden, CT. The role is entry level, supporting young adults through personal challenges and life skills development, with a focus on safety, relationship-building, and empowerment.

The position is per diem with varied shifts; wage is $19.75 per hour, plus any applicable shift differentials. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree with relevant youth experience is preferred, and Spanish skills are a

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with at least six months of experience, or an Associate’s degree plus 2 years’ experience working with youth.
• Willingness to learn and implement strengths based, relational, trauma-informed, gender responsive and culturally competent approaches.
• Knowledge of Spanish in oral and written communication is desired.
• Valid driver’s license.
• COVID-19 vaccination or a negative test prior to start.

Responsibilities

• Reinforces the program’s strengths-based, trauma-informed philosophy.
• Supports residents in developing daily living skills.
• Collaborates with the team to address residents’ individual goals, especially daily living skills.
• Motivates and supports residents and provides positive role modeling.
• Maintains documentation and data entry as required.
• Transports and supervises residents and administers medication per regulations.
• Participates in meetings and program activities.
