Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Youth Advisory Council and grantmaking process, and plan monthly meetings.
  • Engage in member recruitment with focus on equity, access, and community-mindedness.
  • Create and manage a member application and interview process.
  • Develop relationships with youth-oriented healthcare and social services programs to raise awareness of funded opportunities.
  • Oversee member development to enhance health knowledge and philanthropy.
  • Implement a participation program to boost commitment, learning, and community exposure.
  • Facilitate team-building activities and coordinate guest speakers or trainings.
  • Support marketing materials and distribute information through CMAF channels.

Job description

The Youth Advisory Council Coordinator performs activities required to manage the Council including recruiting, development, and retention of members. The Coordinator solicits programs for grant funding, reviews and vets grant applications; and oversees the grant award process by the Youth Council. The Coordinator will serve as a liaison among various education systems, student membership organizations, and community agencies to optimize the participation and experience of Council members. The position is supervised by the Associate Director of the Foundation and provides general administrative support to the Foundation related to Youth Council functions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Coordinates the organizational management of the Youth Advisory Council and its grantmaking process, develops a yearly calendar of activities, and plans and manages monthly Council meetings.
  • Actively engages in membership recruitment activities with attention to equity, access, and community mindedness.
  • Creates/conducts a new member application and interview process.
  • Develops and maintains relationships across youth-oriented healthcare and social services community programs to build awareness of Council funded opportunities.
  • Oversees the development of Council members to enhance an understanding of health-related issues and philanthropy.
  • Develops and implements a participation engagement program to enhance the members' commitment, learning process, exposure to community-wide issues, and participation in solution-based results.
  • Facilitate/ conduct team building activities for members.
  • Provide or facilitate guest speakers and/or coordinate trainings to boost members' learning around various health priorities; broaden students' exposure to rural and urban environments.
  • Conduct special events for the annual Social and Senior Banquet.
  • Assists in the development of marketing materials for the Council and is responsible for the timely distribution of updated information to the public via website, CMA e-newsletter and social media outlets.
  • Provides general administrative duties to ensure the operations of the Council.
  • Maintains all Council forms and manuals.
  • Makes recommendations for changes and improvements to the program.
  • Maintain detailed records and prepares grant applications and awards.
  • Understands CMAF priorities and activities and provides leadership within the job, increasing the capacity of the organization to achieve its vision and mission.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma: college/university attendance preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a non-profit or educational role.
