Job summary

City of Loveland is seeking an enthusiastic part-time Cooking Instructor to teach diverse cuisines and techniques to participants. Classes may occur evenings and weekends with hours varying and less than 20 hours weekly.

Applicants should have 1 year of teaching cooking and an eagerness to promote kitchen safety and culinary skills. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, age 18+, and First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED required.
• 1 year experience teaching Cooking Classes required.
• Some course work in recreation, education, or related field preferred.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years of age at time of hire.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of employment.
• Proficient knowledge of cooking techniques and kitchen safety.

Responsibilities

• Introduce participants to cooking techniques and cuisines while promoting kitchen safety and confidence.
• Ensure compliance with food handling, sanitation, and safety standards.
• Purchase, organize, and manage ingredients within established budgets.
• Provide safe and effective class instruction to registered participants.
• Develop age-appropriate lesson plans featuring international dishes.
• Communicate effectively with recreation staff, participants, and guardians.
