Job summary

YMCA of Honolulu seeks a program assistant to organize and supervise activities for children in grades K–5. You will plan engaging lessons, lead group activities, and help run program events under the 21CCLC framework.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR/AED/First Aid certification, and the ability to complete mandatory training. This role fosters a safe, inclusive, and active learning environment.

Qualifications

• Understanding of child development, group management, and communications.
• Plans and leads age-appropriate learning experiences in a classroom or group setting.
• Must be able to complete mandatory training and be people-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead age- and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for K–5.
• Lead and supervise physical activity and academic curriculum for children.
• Assist in planning and implementing family nights and program activities.
