Job description

Position Summary:

The Pastor of Young Adults & Worship is called by the church to fulfill the following areas: College and young adult Contemporary Music, Sound, Video and Social Media. Direct the planning, execution, and evaluation of Contemporary Praise & Worship music in coordination with traditional music for Sunday service. Provide leadership and direction for the Worship Band, Praise Team, and Technical Team. Reports to the Senior Pastor

Primary Responsibilities:

• Nurture an active and growing personal relationship with Jesus, seeking to become more like Him and modeling a lifestyle that reflects His love.
• Direct the planning, execution, and evaluation of a comprehensive ministry for college and young adults.
• Build God-honoring relationships with young adults that encourage them in their walk with Christ.
• Be available for counsel to young adults as necessary and appropriate.
• Prepare and present the budget for area of responsibility.
• Exhibit personal characteristics which promote cooperation and harmony among young adults, church members and staff.
• Social Media presence – optimize use of social media as a ministry tool.
• Collaborate with the Director of Music in planning and blending contemporary music with traditional music for the Worship Service.
• Utilize young adults with musical talent to participate in the Praise & Worship music ministry of the church.
• Supervise & provide leadership for the Worship Band, Praise Team, and Technical Team.
• Prayerfully seek, train, and equip Worship Band, Technical Team & Praise Team members.
• Maintain all Sound and other equipment utilized in the services.
• Explore, make available and attend training and conferences that would enhance the overall effectiveness of this ministry.
• Set an example by maintaining daily personal Bible study and prayer.
• Promote strategies, ministries, and opportunities to reach people for Christ.
• Keep informed on latest methods, materials, procedures, promotions, and administration as it relates to reaching young adults as well as Contemporary Worship.
• Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor.

Qualifications:

• Possess God’s call to Christian ministry, with skills and passion in the areas of leadership and development.
• Dedicated to magnifying worship, promoting evangelism, strengthening biblical education, and discipling believers.
• Committed to living and serving in a manner consistent with the standards set forth in scripture for such a leader.
• Demonstrate a willingness to seek out latest information and incorporate improvements.
• Exhibit outstanding listening skills to ensure mutual understanding.
• Demonstrate a Christ-like attitude in all interactions and be ever conscious of the need for confidentiality.
