Job summary

Equinox in Washington DC is seeking Barre and Mat Pilates Instructors. You will deliver the Equinox Experience, adapting class intensity and monitoring performance to ensure a premium member experience.

Maintain on-time starts, frequent teaching, and clear communication with the Group Fitness Manager. The role requires current discipline certification, teaching experience, CPR/AED certification, and a friendly, outgoing demeanor.

Qualifications

• Current certification in the discipline is required.
• Experience teaching group fitness classes is preferred.
• Must have CPR/AED certification and be current.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy and kinesiology is expected.
• Willingness to learn and pursue ongoing education.
• Friendly, vibrant, and outgoing personality is essential.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to members in class.
• Adhere to class descriptions and adjust intensity as needed.
• Monitor exercise intensity throughout the class.
• Ensure classes start and end on time.
• Teach regularly with minimal subbing.
• Coordinate with Group Fitness Manager on feedback and status.

Job Description

Equinox's locations in Washington DC are currently seeking Barre and Mat Pilates Instructors. The position entails the following responsibilities. This is not a complete description, and certain responsibilities may additionally be presented along the course of employment:

• Deliver the Equinox Experience to our members in each class;
• Adhere to the description of the class and modify the intensity for participants when necessary;
• Continuously monitor the exercise intensity throughout the duration of the class;
• Ensure class begins and ends on time;
• Teach respective classes on a regular basis and keep subbing to a minimum;
• Communicate with Group Fitness Manager on member feedback, equipment and operational status, scheduling, and subbing;

Qualifications

• Yoga Instructors must possess a current certification in their discipline;
• Have experience teaching;
• Must possess and maintain current CPR/AED certification;
• Must be well-versed in basic anatomy, kinesiology, contraindicated exercises, exercise modifications for all populations;
• Must be eager to learn and continue professional development and education;
• Must be friendly, vibrant, and outgoing;

PAY TRANSPARENCY

$60-$80/class; or $17.95/hr (non-class work)
