Job summary

UNC Medical Center in Butner, NC is seeking a full-time Yoga Instructor to lead group exercise activities within Youth Behavioral Health. You will educate participants on safe techniques, help them reach fitness goals, and foster a positive, inclusive workout environment in collaboration with the Mental Health Team.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a current aerobic or group exercise certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Aerobic or group exercise certification is required.
• Six months of experience leading group exercise activities preferred.
• Ability to communicate with people of all age groups and backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Educates members on safe techniques and guidelines. Greet all members and orient new participants. Instructs class to the ability level of the students participating. Monitor participants through perceived rate of exertion. Works with participants to achieve fitness goals.
• Instructs group exercise classes according to schedule and according to company standards. Starts and finishes class on time as scheduled. Stores all equipment neatly and appropriately. Documents equipment problems in club maintenance log and reports problem to Service Manager.
• Participates in all Wellness Center events, promotions and marketing events.
