Job summary

YMCA of Catawba Valley seeks a certified Yoga Instructor to lead safe, effective group classes (land or water) and contribute to program growth and member retention.

The role requires 3+ years teaching, Yoga Alliance Certification, strong communication, reliability and a flexible schedule; collaborate with Group Fitness team to support the YMCA mission.

You will uphold safety guidelines, assist in community outreach, and maintain equipment while fostering an inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• All YMCA trainings must be completed by the required date.
• 3+ years (300 hours) of teaching experience.
• Proof of Yoga Alliance Certification (or equivalent).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Reliable, self-motivated and self-starter.
• Outgoing with ability to build positive relationships.
• Strong customer service; promote programs and services.
• Flexible work hours based on client availability.

Responsibilities

• Design and prepare class routines meeting guidelines and safe practices.
• Engage with members pre/post class to build relationships.
• Record attendance and target 50% minimum with growth.
• Teach at least one class per week (one/month) and arrange substitutes as needed.
• Start and end class on time.
• Maintain equipment and keep area clean.
• Participate in Community Outreach campaigns.
• Be aware of branch emergency procedures.
• Attend staff meetings.
• Participate in continuing education training.
• Support the YMCA mission and branch objectives.
