Job description

We are currently seeking a Yoga Instructor for the Greater Waco YMCA. The Yoga Instructor will lead group exercise classes in the practice of Yoga. The candidate will provide a safe environment while welcoming, connecting, and supporting members in achieving their fitness goals.

Morning availability needed

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Keep current certification through a national certifying association
• Attend all staff meetings and trainings as scheduled
• Ensure class is set-up, starts/ends on time and equipment is stored appropriately
• Follow association/branch dress code
• Teach each class as formatted by the Health and Fitness Director and maintain agreed upon class attendance minimums
• Share fitness program information with members, using available tools and resources
• Communicate with members and program participants while building relationships in support of their individual needs
• Identify and celebrate the successes of members and program participants

QUALIFICATIONS

• Be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must hold an up-to-date group certification
• Must hold a current Yoga certification
• Must be reliable with a good attendance record
• Have a good knowledge of fitness and wellness
• Be friendly, courteous, enthusiastic, possess a cooperative attitude, and be a team player
• Follow YMCA policies and procedures; respond to emergency situations
• Be willing to uphold the YMCA’s core values of caring, honesty, responsibility, respect, and faith
• CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire
• Be able to pass reference check, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender check

Pay Rate: $18-$36 Hourly
