Job summary

Vineyard City is seeking a passionate Yoga Instructor to lead safe, engaging classes for participants of varying skill levels. The role focuses on improving fitness, flexibility, mindfulness, and well-being in a welcoming environment.

Under Recreation Director supervision, you will plan and lead scheduled classes, promote safety, provide modifications, and create a positive experience. CPR/First Aid certifications are preferred, and a background check will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Lead outdoor yoga sessions at Sunset Beach Park.

• Educate participants on benefits of yoga and healthy practices.
• Maintain a clean, safe class environment.

Job description

Vineyard City is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Yoga Instructor to lead safe, engaging, and effective yoga classes for participants of varying skill levels. The ideal candidate will inspire participants to improve their physical fitness, flexibility, mindfulness, and overall well-being while creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Under the supervision of the Recreation Director, the Yoga Instructor will plan and lead scheduled yoga classes, promote participant safety, provide appropriate modifications, and create a positive experience for all participants. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and customer service skills, be reliable and punctual, and demonstrate professionalism while working with individuals of varying ages and fitness levels.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Plan and lead a 45-minute yoga class from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. on October 5, 12, 19, and 26, 2026, outdoors at Vineyard City's Sunset Beach Park.
• Arrive at least 10 minutes prior to each class to ensure the class can begin on time.
• Demonstrate yoga poses, breathing techniques, stretching, and meditation practices.
• Provide modifications and adjustments to accommodate varying fitness levels and physical limitations.
• Monitor participant safety and encourage proper form and technique.
• Create a positive, inclusive, welcoming, and motivating class environment.
• Develop class sequences that align with program objectives and participant needs.
• Educate participants on the benefits of yoga, wellness, flexibility, mindfulness, and healthy lifestyle practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe class environment.
• Ensure yoga equipment is properly used, organized, and stored.
• Ability to stand, bend, stretch, kneel, and move throughout classes.
• Possess excellent communication, public relations, and customer service skills.
• Certified Yoga Instructor through a recognized training program.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications preferred/required.
• Pass a background check.
