The YMCA Fairfax County Reston is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Membership Director to lead our membership department. The Membership Director is responsible for the recruitment, engagement, and retention of members. This role includes managing membership operations, developing strategies to increase membership, and ensuring members have a positive experience.

Exciting Responsibilities You'll Have as the Membership Director:

  1. Lead all membership campaigns by coordinating and supervising handling of all prospect sources and interaction with guests to achieve the branch’s monthly member acquisition and retention goals.
  2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the membership department, ensuring high-quality member service.
  3. Train, supervise, and support membership staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with members, addressing concerns and feedback to enhance member satisfaction.
  5. Collaborate with other departments to promote YMCA programs and services.
  6. Plan and execute member engagement events and activities.
  7. Support the branch membership marketing needs.
  8. Provide mentorship and development to the membership team.

Qualifications and Skills: We seek a leader with values that align with the Y’s mission:

  1. Demonstrated the ability to create a member-focused culture and model relationship building.
  2. 5 years of relevant experience in membership sales, acquisition, retention strategy, and operations.
  3. Proven track record of successful membership growth and retention.
  4. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  5. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Office and membership management software.
  7. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
