We are currently seeking Program Directors for our YMCA KIPP DC locations. If you have a love for working with youth, a knack for leadership, and a desire to create positive change, we want you to join us!

Position: Program Director
Salary: $48,000-$52,000

About the Job:

As a Program Director, you will oversee the daily operations of our KIPP DC afterschool and day camp programs. You will lead a dynamic team of 15-30 staff members, ensuring that every child and family experiences high-quality, enriching programs. From growing and developing exciting programming to making sure we meet licensing standards, you’ll play a key role in creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for all.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing the day-to-day operations of afterschool and day camp programs at our KIPP DC location.
2. Managing a team of dedicated staff members and helping them thrive.
3. Ensuring that programs meet the highest standards for safety, quality, and growth.
4. Expanding and coordinating activities that make a real difference in the community.
5. Supporting fundraising efforts and special events to help grow the Y’s impact in the DC area.

Qualifications and Skills:

We are looking for a leader who’s passionate about youth development and has:

1. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or 15+ semester hours in child development courses) with at least 3 years of experience in an education/recreation setting.
2. A proven ability to lead with excellent communication skills and strong relationship-building abilities.
3. Strong financial management and budgeting experience.
4. A commitment to meeting OSSE educational and licensing requirements.
