GENERAL FUNCTION

Under the direction and supervision of the Program Director/Coordinator, the Program Instructor I will be primarily responsible for providing quality leadership and supervision in aerobic and/or fitness classes while maintaining a safe, non-competitive environment for YMCA members.

KNOW HOW

  1. Experience leading group exercise is preferred.
  2. A minimum of 16 years of age.
  3. Knowledge of basic exercise science and fitness class leadership is preferred.
  4. Ability to learn and successfully demonstrate aerobic choreography.
  5. Verbally provide clear concise directions and visually inspect the classroom for safety.
  6. Maintain current certifications in CPR AED, First Aid, Safety & Risk Management, Child Abuse Prevention, New Employee Orientation, and other wellness department and designated Branch training, or the ability to obtain within 60-90 days of employment.
