About the Job

Provides fitness program advice and assistance to members through proper demonstration and utilization of fitness equipment, and develops basic workout programs for all machines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively explains the benefits of working out and orients members to wellness services such as Equipment Orientation, Fitlinxx or Fitness Advisor Process, Fitness Evaluation, Personal Training, Group Exercise classes, and Wellness socials.
  • Identifies potentially dangerous situations and responds proactively.
  • Provides members with information about the YMCA mission, group exercise schedule, and branch services.
  • Supports members throughout all stages of their healthy living journey.
Qualifications and Skills
  • High school diploma or GED required; BA/BS in exercise science or related field preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid and AED certifications required.
  • Outgoing personality and ability to relate well to members.
  • Team player, willing to assist in other areas, embodying the core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Working Conditions
  • Ability to bend, sit, stand, or lift at least 35 pounds.
