Job description

We are hiring a full-time Leadership Position as a Program Director for our Childcare Division (Afterschool/Day Camp) at the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas.

In this role, you will build relationships with school administration, parents, and lead a team of part-time staff who oversee daily activities with children, ensure safety, and contribute to high-quality Afterschool and Day Camp programming.

The Program Director manages multiple afterschool sites and up to three day camps, ensuring licensing compliance and delivering excellent service to school partners, families, branch staff, and the community. You will support YMCA's fundraising efforts to provide access to quality programs for all children and families, regardless of financial means. As a leader, you will serve as a role model, embodying the YMCA values of Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Caring.

Responsibilities include onboarding and training staff, managing program finances, recruiting staff, promoting programs, and passionately supporting the YMCA's mission. The Program Director will oversee a specific territory, with a 'home office' based in Frisco or McKinney, Texas, and is expected to be actively visible to their team. Travel within the territory is required, with mileage reimbursed when traveling beyond normal commute distances.

This position works from 9:30 am to 6:30 pm, with some Saturdays required for events and trainings.

Minimum Requirements:
  1. Supervision experience with at least one year of managing direct reports, including hiring and coaching.
  2. Demonstrated inclusiveness, compassion, and care for others.
  3. Minimum of 2 years in management, education, or business, with success in team building and coaching.
  4. At least 1 year of multi-unit childcare management experience.
  5. Strong planning, recruitment, customer service, and quality assurance skills.
  6. Ability to build relationships with community stakeholders, including school administration, and communicate effectively.
  7. Preferred: BS/BA degree and/or Director Certification through Child Care Licensing.
  8. Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and travel within the territory.
  9. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
