Job summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor is seeking a highly analytical Yield and PCI Engineer to monitor wafer manufacturing processes, drive yield enhancement, and investigate excursions. You will leverage SPC, defect data, and parametric testing to identify root causes and implement robust solutions with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities include real-time process monitoring, ET data analysis, building scalable data pipelines, and deploying ML-based anomaly detection to keep processes in control.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Applied Physics, or related field.
• Understanding of semiconductor device physics and CMOS fabrication processes.
• Understanding of electrical parametric testing, defect inspection mechanisms.
• Strong writing and presentation skills to communicate technical data to diverse audiences.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, 24/7 cleanroom manufacturing environment.
• Capable of managing multiple investigations with cross-functional teams.
• Proactive and organized with excellent verbal and written communication for reporting to home teams and global stakeholders.
• Cross-functional leadership and communication.
• Exceptional analytical problem-solving skills with a proven track record of resolving complex process excursions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor wafer manufacturing processes and yield-related data daily.
• Develop SPC charts and control plans to ensure process stability.
• Analyze ET data and investigate process excursions.
• Design scalable data pipelines for ET data.
• Collaborate with Process and Equipment engineers on CAPA.
• Present yield/defectivity metrics to management and engineering teams.
