Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all. Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever. The Yield Enhancement organization partners closely with Fab, Yield Engineering, and product teams to improve manufacturing performance and product quality. We use electrical characterization, failure analysis, advanced analytics, and emerging technologies to identify yield detractors, solve complex problems, and drive continuous improvement across semiconductor manufacturing.

As a Yield Enhancement Electrical Failure Analysis Engineer, you will investigate electrical failures and yield issues to identify root causes and enable corrective actions. This role combines hands-on failure analysis, data-driven problem solving, automation, and cross-functional collaboration to improve yield, reliability, and engineering productivity while supporting new technology and product ramp efforts.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform electrical failure analysis, characterize defects, and deliver clear reports that support root cause identification and yield improvement
  • Correlate electrical test data, failure analysis results, and manufacturing information to investigate yield excursions and recommend corrective actions
  • Develop and enhance monitoring, screening, automation, and analytics solutions that improve investigation efficiency and defect detection
  • Partner with Design, Product, Process Integration, Manufacturing, and Data Science teams to resolve yield and reliability challenges
  • Communicate technical findings, support continuous improvement initiatives, and mentor engineers and technicians on failure analysis methodologies and AI-enabled engineering tools
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field and 3 years of semiconductor experience post graduation
  • Proven industry knowledge of semiconductor devices, device physics, process integration, and electrical failure analysis techniques
  • 3+ years experience analyzing electrical test data, failure analysis results, and manufacturing data to identify potential root causes
  • Ability to operate laboratory equipment safely, manage multiple investigations, and generate clear technical reports
  • Strong collaboration, communication, problem-solving, and data analysis skills, including the use of AI-enabled tools and automation solutions
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience leading complex electrical failure analysis and yield-improvement investigations across multiple products or technologies
  • Expertise with semiconductor characterization and debug tools such as uM3/Micromate, Merlin/Raptor testers, emission analysis tools, MPI probe stations, or nanoprobe systems
  • Deep understanding of semiconductor device physics, memory architectures, process integration, and common failure mechanisms
  • Experience developing automated analytics tools, dashboards, workflows, or new failure analysis methodologies that improve engineering productivity
  • Experience using AI-assisted analytics to enhance data interpretation, anomaly detection, and yield improvement initiatives
