Yerington Intermediate 5/6th Grade Teacher 2025/26

Position Details

Range: $49,764-$89,318 annually, with Employer-paid retirement, dependent upon previous experience.

Terms of Employment: 9 Months or (185/189 Days).
FLSA Status: EXEMPT, salaried position on the Licensed Employee Salary Schedule.

Position Summary

The teacher will implement appropriate educational curriculum based on Nevada Academic Content Standards and district-approved curriculum. Responsibilities include creating a positive learning environment, adhering to district standards, and reporting to the school administrator.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Administer district curriculum aligned with Nevada State Standards and/or upcoming Common Core Standards.
  • Ensure respectful learning environment for all students.
  • Create and maintain an effective instructional environment.
  • Develop and implement lessons using the district’s lesson plan template.
  • Analyze student progress and provide individualized instruction.
  • Ensure compliance with IEPs and related mandates.
  • Maintain classroom safety and discipline.
  • Contribute to the School Performance Plan.
  • Ensure assessment compliance.
  • Promote positive learning conditions.
  • Handle stress professionally and collaborate with staff, parents, and community.
  • Integrate technology into lessons.
  • Maintain accurate records in student management systems.
  • Participate in job-related activities as assigned.
  • Punctuality and attendance are essential.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution.

Licenses: Must possess or obtain a Nevada teaching license and certification in relevant subject area.

Physical and Mental Requirements
