Qualifications

• Experience as a swim instructor or lifeguard preferred.

British Swim School is dedicated to making the world a safer place by promoting water safety and teaching swimming skills to all ages and skill levels. We have two locations at the 24-Hour Fitness gyms in Antioch and Brentwood.

The main responsibilities include:

• Teaching Swimming Skills: Conduct lessons on water acclimation, survival, and stroke development, focusing on techniques like floating, kicking, stroking, and breathing.
• Water Safety: Teach safety principles, including the use of life jackets, hazard recognition, and emergency responses.
• Assessment: Evaluate swimmers' abilities and tailor instruction accordingly, providing feedback for improvement.
• Lesson Planning: Create engaging, goal-oriented lesson plans suited to each student's needs.
• Communication: Keep students and guardians informed about progress and address questions or concerns.
• Demonstration: Show techniques and exercises to ensure proper understanding and execution.
• Safety Oversight: Maintain a safe, clean environment by checking equipment and enforcing safety rules.
• Record Keeping: Document student progress regularly.
• Certification: Help students meet standards and assist with certification processes.
• Continuing Education: Stay updated with industry trends, certifications, and teaching methods through ongoing training.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent, or in progress.
• Experience as a swim instructor or lifeguard preferred.
• Current lifeguard and CPR/First Aid certifications preferred but not mandatory.
• Experience working with children preferred.
• Interest or experience working with children with disabilities or special needs preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with all ages.
• Knowledge of swimming techniques and water safety.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and a passion for teaching swimming.
